Peach Pickin!

Gavin, Noah, Autumn and I went peach picking with a friend and her son. We went to the Church's orchard. The peaches were as big as soft balls. The peaches were so fun to eat and so delicious. The kids had a great time until the peach fuzz got on their arms and they started itching, then it wasn't so fun anymore.

Autumn loved eating peach. To me this is what summer is all about. The juice would drip down her elbows!!
Noah with his bucket of peaches that he picked. He would fill up his bucket so happily.
Look how big the peaches were this one is almost as big as Gavin's head. Gavin with his proud peach pick!! Here is Noah loading up the box!!
Reach!! Good thing my friend April was tall, I would grab the branch and hang on it and then April would pick the peaches. We picked over a bushel for our family. Then Dave and I processed them and canned them and froze them. It took a long time but it was worth it now we have peaches to last us the whole winter.

Here's Dave and Gavin with the peaches we put up. Dave is holding the frozen tray of peaches that we'll use for smoothies. We froze most of them in freezer bags and then added fruit fresh and juice to the bag.

Camping In Idaho

We went camping in a cute camp called Black Rock. There were only a few people there and it was absolutely beautiful. There were mountains right before us and a river at the base. There was a little swimming hole right next to our site and Dave and the boys went swimming. The Paynes came too with their girls Bailey and Ellie. Right when we arrived at the site Noah came to me and said he heard a rattle snake. I just thought that he heard a grasshopper clicking and thought it was a rattle snake. Then a little later we were setting up our tents and the kids were over playing with the fire pit. (No fire, fire ban due to all the fires going on right now in Idaho). I saw Dave walk over to where the children were and all of the sudden I saw Dave grab Autumn and start running and all the while yelling to the children to get the heck out of there. They scattered like Saturn Missles. Sure enough there was a Rattle Snake by the rocks set around the campfire. You could hear the tail rattling-freaky. Dave and Ryan tried to get the snake for like an hour but the snake went down in its little hole.

Then later when it was dark I saw a black shadow and looked harder to see a fox. It was tall and it had a white tipped tail. Dave and Ryan chased the fox for awhile and then we settled a gain and the sneaky little fox came back again. He was clearly not afraid of us. He tried to get to our table where the food was. The kids got a little afraid and I told them to say, "Swiper no swiping!" They seemed to like that.

In the morning we made cinnamon rolls, pancakes, bacon and hot cocoa for breakfast it was good. We left about 11:00 am and just a few miles from our camp site on the road we saw a black bear. Woudn't you know it- my camera ran out of batteries and I didn't get a picture of the bear-stink. I've never seen so much wild life in my whole life that I saw in the 20 hours we were there camping. So much fun!!
